 Read Aloud Session
  
 
Reader Guidelines:
 
 
  1. Bring something you have written to read aloud to the group—first pages of novel/novella/short story, non-fiction book, poetry, or article.
  2. Be willing to stand before the group and read what you bring.
  3. Each author can read for only 5 minutes, giving one minute to listeners  to write comments on slip.
  4. Please PROJECT your voice when reading.  This is a test. This is a test.
  5. Collect your comments when going to your seat.
 
 
Listener Evaluation Guidelines:
 
 
  1. We will provide each listener with individual evaluation/critique slips for each participant’s work.  Plan to jot the reader’s name at top as they introduce themselves.
  2. Listeners will make a couple of comments about each reader’s work.
  3. Comments can be constructive and/or encouraging.
  4. You can sign the paper or leave it anonymous.
  5. Hand your comment slip to reader as they sit down. If you have longer comments, hand to them later, but you’ll need to have their name at top.
  6. The manuscripts will not be discussed orally by the group, only in written form.
  
 
This session is free and open to the public.  Everyone is encouraged to attend and to participate in the evaluations. We need good listeners as well as read aloud participants.
